These beautiful flowers are carved out of blue chalcedony. They are a gorgeous color and have some translucency. They are 3/4” in diameter and are framed on the back with 18k gold vermeil with a French clip (post plus clip to keep them firmly on your ear).
Chalcedony is a translucent stone made of a microcrystalline form of quartz. Native American Indians believed chalcedony was a sacred stone and it was used in the spiritual ceremonies of various tribes. The mineral is found in Madagascar, Brazil, India, China and the USA.
