This boxwood rabbit has been beautifully carved showing his expressive face, big eyes and even fur. The rabbit sits on top of a turquoise disk and an old Indonesian Conus shelhisl. These shells, harvested from the sea, were used to decorate clothing in the Indonesian islands. This one of a kind necklace is a fun to wear piece. The pendant is 1 3/4” wide and drops 2 3/4” from a black natural leather cord that adjusts from 16” to 32” using slip knots so it can be worn a variety of lengths.
The rabbit is symbolic of virtue and longevity. Those born in the year of the rabbit are intelligent, successful in business and lucky in love.
The conus shells came from marine sea creatures in Indonesia and were slices of their shells. The creatures were caught be local villagers and the shells were used to decorate clothing in the Indonesian islands.
