This beautiful and delicate carved bi-color green and golden jade is carved in the shape of a butterfly. I have beaded it with carved melon shaped green aventurine beads to pick up the green color in the butterfly. Interspersed between the aventurine beads are faceted golden citrine which gives the necklace a bit of sparkle. This piece of jade is intricately carved to show off the butterfly. The necklace is 20” around (including the 2 3/4” by 1 3/4’ butterfly) and is finished with a 18k gold vermeil clasp. This one-of-a-kind design is a bold yet delicate fashion statement and is great for every season.

Aventurine is a type of microcrystalline quartz. It varies from translucent to opaque and has small inclusions that give the stone a little bit of sparkle. The stone’s name comes from the Italian word “ventura” for “chance”. Citrine is a glassy, wine-yellow variety of quartz.
