I found this beautiful old wood carving of an old Asian man while in China many years ago. He is beautifully carved showing all the details of his serene facial features. He‘s seems deep in contemplative thought. I have suspended him from a carved black onyx double dragon so that he can be worn as a pendant necklace. He drops 3 1/2 inches and is one and a half inch wide. He drops from a black natural leather cord that adjusts from 16 inches to 32 inches so he can be worn a variety of lengths. This is a wonderful old piece that has been beautifully carved and makes a one-of-a-kind pendant necklace.
The dragon is the imperial emblem of the Emperors in China, especially from the from the Han period where their coat of arms shows two dragons fighting for the fiery pearl. The dragon is a supernatural creature and is the symbol of power, strength, wisdom and goodness. It represents the utmost in accomplishment: good luck and a successful life. It is also believed to be the guardian of hidden treasures. It represents the spirit of growth and change.
